Fireworks Survey

We are considering whether we should do the Fire Work Sale jointly with Cindy Nair, a former member of our church.  In previous years we were able to bring in money for scholarships for kids camp, which have been around $8,000.00   However, the arrangements have changed and we will now share in the cost of setting up the tent, paying for storage of materials, including shelves and cash registers, as well as paying for someone to sleep in the tent overnight to guard the fireworks.  This will mean that we will received less money than we have in the past, which may be that we will earn as little as $2500. .  It is important in order to decide whether to move forward to determine if we have enough adult volunteers to man the booth from 8 or 9 a.m. in the morning, to 9 or 10 p.m., or even later on the 4th of July.  We will also need to help set up and take down the tent.  Generally the set up dates have been June 23 and the take down is on July 6th.

  • We will need to staff day and night shifts for 14 days with more people and hours needed surrounding the 4th. We would need to cover 250 - 400 hours over those two weeks.
